It’s been a long time coming – the M05 Tradesoft is proud to present the fruits of co-operation with Templar’s Gear: tactical combat gear with the Finnish M05 camouflage! The aim of this co-operation is to fill a torso-sized hole in the Finnish gear market: before this, it was not possible to have a full combat gear set available with the domestic M05 pattern. We had contemplated on acquiring M05 combat gear before, but had not found a suitable manufacturer before Templar’s Gear. The actual idea of this project was born in the fall of 2017 when the first Templar’s Gear products landed at our headquarters. After finding a suitable friend and partner in Poland, it was obvious that we had to present this gift to the airsoft/reserve forces/military/defence forces/SRA shooting communities and everyone interested in the Finnish camouflage pattern. Knights Templar and Freemasons - The Perfect Storm! Freedom, the idea most sublime! Templar's Gear's answer to everyone's longing to be free is Freemason, a modular front panel that adapts to carry the most diverse equipment so that they are still easily accessible and even more so quickly deployable. The innovative structure, that reminds us 90's kids of clam phones, is actually just like a clam: beautiful on the outside, but the real pearl <3 is found inside. The idea of Freemason is that its carrying capacity can be freely modified with the included inserts. The inner surface is loop velcro on the side facing the body and hook velcro on the outside - you can sandwich as many inserts as you want in between. And the inserts? They are plentiful. The structure also allows the height of the inserts to be adjusted in relation to each other, for example so that pistol magazines sit as high or pronouncedly deeper than rifle magazines. And the structure also allows you to easily install your own inserts or, via using a suitable adapter, to attach ordinary PALS/MOLLE pouches. The panel is also compatible with practically all SwiftClip-type "placards" and vests. In terms of size, AR/Colt/STANAG magazines work best in the larger stiffened inserts. In addition, narrower and non-protruding studs featuring magazines intended for 5.56×45mm/.223 cartridges also fit nicely. From AK magazines only AK74 magazines are somewhat suitable, but the claw of the magazines gets stuck very easily. Practically all double-row pistol magazines fit the smaller ones. Features: Eight (8) inserts included! So there is plenty of choice. Included inserts are:Three rifle magazine pouches with removable and adjustable elastic cord securing loops. The angle of the loop can also be adjusted so that it always pulls the magazines in the right direction. Internal dimensions are 7.5 x 13 x 2 cm, however, the stiffened structure is not completely rigid, i.e. the dimensions vary a bit depending on what is inside or how tightly you close the Freemason. Two pistol magazine pouches with removable and adjustable elastic cord securing loops. Internal dimensions are 3.5 x 8 x 2.3 cm, however, the stiffened structure is not completely rigid, i.e. the dimensions vary a bit depending on what is inside or how tightly you close the Freemason. Two pouches with flaps. Dimensions are 11.5 x 14.5 x 1.5 cm. The length of the flap is 9.5 cm, and if you want to use the velcro all the way, the maximum lenghth for items is about 17 cm. These pouches are suitably flexible, the necessary stiffness is provided by the panel itself, so these can adapt to take in anything and everything! One zippered "admin pouch", dimensions 23 x 14.5 x 1.5cm. Mouth opening width 21 cm, and the zipper is two-way. On the inside, there is loop velcro on both sides for organizing thingies. The pouch is quite flexible: the necessary stiffness is provided by the panel itself, so it can adapt to take in anything and everything! The dimensions of the main structure itself are 23.5 x 14.5 x 4.5 cm, excluding the fastening buckles. These measurements should be taken with a pinch of salt, because the configuration you choose and the tightness you set affect the measurements. Width and height are approximately the same what a traditional panel would have anyway; the thickness depends on how much you want to load it.6 x 2.5 PALS/MOLLE matrix on the front. The middle rows are also available. In addition, Freemason has a 23 x 6 cm loop velcro matrix integrated with the PALS matrix, the little pouches with flaps use this loop velcro matrix to close.1 x 2.5 PALS matrices on both sides. If one uses the smaller loops above and below, the matrices expand to be 3.5 loops high. The middle rows are also available. The stiffening structure on the inner surface is exposed which means that PALS pouches can also be attached to it, although the measurements are not quite standard.1 x 4.5 PALS matrix at the bottom, middle rows can be used too. Like the side matrices, both ends have short links, which can expand this to be 5.5 loops long, and you can also attach things to the stiffening structure on the inside. This bottom matrix is "horizontal", that is, the pouches attached to it sit horizontally at the bottom of the Freemason. A perfect place for a tourniquet pouch! The back side is completely covered with hook velcro. With this and the buckles the panel attaches to a plate carrier or any other suitable parent vest. Note! The panel should be closed so that the fastening flaps on the front come between the panel and the vest, so that the "binding" is as strong as possible. If in doubt, this can be reinforced by adding velcro or by putting, for example, paracord or other string around the entire panel. Based on our tests, the velcros of the insert pockets add some support to the structure, and the used velcro anyway goes to gym, meaning you don't have to worry about sudden opening of the pouches. Buckles are made by Woojin. Extra female buckles are also included, in case, your plate carrier doesn't have them already or the existing ones are broken or missing. The weight is exceptionally difficult to tell as it depends on how you decide to configure your gear. However, let's go through the weights of the individual parts: panel 170 g, rifle magazine insert 45 g each, pistol magazine insert 20 g each, pouch insert with flap 15 g each and pouch insert with zipper 45 g. Since not everything can fit inside at once, the total weight is about 245-355 g, depending on the configuration. In other words, pretty light! Manufactured from 500 denier Foxdura (Baucent laminate, i.e. Foxdura and Cordura combined. The best of both worlds!) and durable, stiff plastic. Materials & manufacturing The Templar’s Gear M05 products are manufactured from the Finnish Foxa 500 denier Foxdura fabric by using laser cut technology, which enabled us to reduce the weight of the gear without compromising reliability. The material meets the Finnish Defence Forces' requirements for IRR protection and the other materials are also IRR treated. This means that the products can be safely used even in situations where you need to be hidden in the IR spectrum! The laser cut PALS webbings are also extremely durable, because they don’t have stitches which are prone to wear and tear. Special attention has been paid to quality control in Templar’s pouches and gear, because a significant portion of the company’s customers are officials, whose safety and well-being might depend on the gear. Conscription in Finnish military Well, since someone’s going to ask anyway, let’s answer: we do not know if this gear can be used when you are in general conscription. If you want to be polite, you can ask your officer, if it’s okay to use your own gear. However, it’s usually easier to apologize later than to get permission. If necessary, we recommend you demonstrate the features of the gear, for example in the IR spectrum, where you can clearly prove that this gear has been made for military use and is not some Chinese knock-off. Cooperation - Yhteistyö - Współpraca Templar's Gear products are delivered to us straight from the factory in Poland. This means that our product selection is updated to the latest and greatest generation almost in real time as replenishments are ordered. Thanks to the close cooperation and our frequent orders, we also have a chance to forward feedback and new ideas to the respective designers. If you as a user have any ideas for product development, we are happy to share them with Templar's Gear. Extended three-year warranty Templar’s Gear products are granted a three-year warranty. In more concrete manner this means for example products sold on this spring will have warranty for three action packed seasons of airsoft, shooting or whatever you do with them. Warranty covers all problems that should arise from defective materials or poor craftsmanship. Carelessness or misuse voids the warranty.
