The glow stick, also known as light stick or chemlight, is a disposable light source, which does not need an external power source. The glow stick does not generate heat, only light, so it is safe to use in any circumstances and environments. A glow stick is practically a plastic tube, with a hook for hanging in one end. Inside there are two chemicals that work together to create a chemical reaction, which result in only light without heat. The glow stick is activated by folding it so that the glass capsule inside breaks, and the chemicals can mix.
