Templar's Gear Cataphract Integrated Ballistic Vest with ROC Attachment, Ranger Green (CIBV)

Templar's Gear's Cataphract ("Kata" among friends) is a scalable ballistic vest system that can be used as a shrapnel vest, as a lightweight bullet vest that provides the level of protection of the plate oarrier, or to use soft and hard armour at the same time. It is the system for adapting to different threat levels and mission parameters: when you have to go fast and the threat is only shrapnel, put only soft plates inside. If the threat is mainly bullets, you can insert just the hard plates in the vest. If the situation gets really bad, put both! The vest is really light and, compared to previous generations, also smarter in ergonomics. The vest uses soft protective plates of its own cut (the same cut as its little brother Koursores) and 25 x 30 cm or SAPI-style hard plates, which we have available from Protection Group Danmark. Compared to the BALCS of the early 2000s, this cut is more ergonomic and modular, as the "wings" of the protective plates are shorter and the position/angle of the side ballistic plates can be slightly adjusted using the cummerbund. The maximum achievable protection is therefore NIJ IIIA IV, which offers excellent protection against shrapnel and bullets from rifle calibers. The front panel's mounting base has loop velcro along the entire length of the upper part, so the panels won't hang even in heavy loads. CPC panels fit!Compatible with Templar's Flat Packs and back panels either with the adapters that come with the smaller Flat Pack, or with these separately sold adapters.Possibility to attach different danglers, i.e. fanny bag style pouches to hang below the front plate bag either to the horizontal PALS, to the velcro under the front panel or to the velcro of the plate bags.Loads of openable loops for organizing cables and hydration bladder tubes and a carry/evacuation handle at the back.In the front plate bag, from top to bottom, the following PALS/MOLLE matrices: 4 x 3 and 6 x 3.5. Soft 25 x 30 cm or SAPI sheets and the like also fit inside, but they can wander a little and they do not achieve the full protection surface.The smaller section on top of the previous ones uses 25 x 30 cm or SAPI cut boards. From SAPI/ESAPI plates, at least S and M size plates go, possibly also at least thinner L size ICW plates. Please note that an ICW plate is sufficient as a hard plate, if the vest has soft armour inside at the same time! Here is an excellent alternative for a hard ICW plate.Compatible with CPC series. In principle, there is nothing stopping you from combining CPC and Cataphract front/rear plate bags if you see it as the best solution for you. Rapid Open Connectors – Divide And Control The indisputable advantage of the ROC system is a certain kind of positive continuity: size adjustments do not change on their own, as ROC buckles always close the same regardles of hurry or magazines attached to front panel. The traditional velcro closure has a slightly different angle and circumference each time and when opening the front flap, pouches and magazines are often in the way. However, if necessary, adjustments can be made quickly using the opening on the back of the vest - even with the back panel in place! Removing the velcro also makes the vest thinner in the front, so even with the ballistic plates, the vest is not as thick as a more traditional plate carrier and the profile of a soldier in a laid up position is smaller. The undeniable advantage of the ROC system is also speed, especially when removing the vest. If necessary, for example when getting into water or patching up a wounded fighter, the vest comes off the user in seconds. By opening all the buckles, the front plate bag completely detaches from the back plate bag, so the vests do not accidentally become a vague spaghetti around the wearer, but the thing breaks down into easily manageable small units. Panel On – Panel Off With front and back panels it is easy to change the nature of the vest on the fly. The back panel can hold different "assault panel" configurations and the front panels can have different pouches for different magazines. The smartest way to attach the pouches on the back is to attach them to the panel, because then the the back can be emptied quickly, for example for a backpack. The back panels are attached with adapters and attachment hooks that are threaded into the PALS loops. After the adapters have been installed, there is no need to unthread and rethread the PALS, but the zippers are used for fast and convenient method of donning and doffing back panels. According to our user experience, the back panel can be attached and detached from the carrier in less than a minute after a short break-in phase. The plate bags are designed to last: the edges of the laser cuts are rounded so that the stress does not get concentrated in one point. In addition, the plate bags (also in the cummerbund) are equipped with 3D-patterned Gambeson laminate on the body side to allow air to circulate. This is especially nice in a vest like this, where the non-breathable protective panels cover a very large part of the torso! The PALS matrices on the sides of the front and back plate pockets are a nice replacement for Templar's traditional two-piece cummerbund, which this vest does not have due to the cummerbund ballistic plate sections.
